about

As the first human sets foot on Mars, they are met with a breathtaking panorama of desolate beauty. The crimson soil stretches endlessly, dotted with jagged rocks and the occasional hint of ancient waterways. Against the backdrop of an endless horizon, the stark silence is interrupted only by the gentle whisper of the Martian winds. In this surreal landscape, every step feels like a monumental journey into the unknown, a testament to humanity's insatiable curiosity and boundless spirit of exploration.

'a topology of red terrain' draws inspiration from the incredible 4K images returned from Mars by NASA's exploratory vehicles, capturing the essence of this distant world through sound. Utilizing the names of various Martian locations, each composition creates a sonic parallel to the enigmatic landscapes depicted in these images. Departing from my usual ambient releases, this project delves into the realm of soft noise, exploring the quiet blips and beeps of machines and electronic ephemera. Grounded in ambient sonic panoramas that reflect the images which inspired them, 'a topology of red terrain' offers a captivating fusion of art and technology, inviting listeners to embark on a sonic journey through the uncharted depths of Mars' mysterious terrain.
